How to check a campaign with SendProofs

Three things to know: how to save the delivered test email, how to upload it, and what the report will ask of you. Signed-in operators see this same guidance inside the workspace.

The workflow

  1. Send a test campaign to your own inbox

Through the same platform and settings planned for the real send — the test must go through the real link rewriting.

  2. Save the message that actually arrived

As a .eml file. Gmail on a computer: open the email → More → Download message. Outlook on the web: More actions → Download. Apple Mail on Mac: File → Save As → Raw Message Source. Step-by-step guides: Gmail, Outlook, Apple Mail.

  3. Upload it to your workspace

Files up to 2 MB with the .eml extension. SendProofs extracts the links and images, classifies protected actions, and runs bounded public checks.

  4. Act on the evidence

Fix Broken items in your sending platform, review Warnings and Protected items by hand, then send a fresh test and recheck. SendProofs never edits the campaign for you.

  • New Outlook for Windows: open the message, then choose More actions → Save as.
  • Classic Outlook for Windows: double-click the message, then choose File → Save As.
  • Gmail mobile or Apple Mail on iPhone/iPad: open the same mailbox on a computer and use the desktop path.

Still blocked? Contact support with the mail app and version you use — and do not attach the campaign email to the support request.

Reading the report

Every resource lands in one of six states — Healthy, Warning, Broken, Protected, Blocked or Inconclusive — each with a concrete next action. How to read a SendProofs report walks through all of them. Two rules worth internalizing: Protected links are never opened, and an Inconclusive result is neither a pass nor a failure.
