One evidence pass before anyone approves the send
Send yourself the real test, save it, upload it. SendProofs takes every unique link and image in the delivered email — the message your platform already rewrote — checks the ones it can safely request, and returns a timestamped report of what answered, what broke and what needs a person. You stay the approver; the report is what you approve against.
How it works
-
Send the test
From your sending platform, to your own inbox — the same campaign that will go to subscribers, so the links carry the final tracking rewrites.
-
Save it as a .eml file
Works with an email saved from Gmail, Outlook on the web or Apple Mail — see downloading a .eml from Gmail for exact steps.
-
Upload it
One file, up to 2 MB and 500 unique resources. Links and images are extracted and deduplicated, and links recognized as action-bearing are set aside as Protected before any request is made.
-
Read the report
Each unique resource gets one state; every performed check records status, redirect chain, timing, and the exact error code when something failed.
-
Fix in your sending platform
SendProofs reports; it does not edit campaigns. The broken link or missing tag gets fixed where you built the email.
-
Send a fresh test
Link rewriting means the fix has to be confirmed in a newly delivered email, not in the template you just edited.
-
Recheck and hand over the evidence
Upload the fresh test, then bring the findings to the approval — what was checked, when, and with what result — so the person who signs off decides against recorded evidence, not memory.
What the states mean here
- Healthy
- The destination answered 2xx with nothing flagged. No action.
- Warning
- Reachable, but a human should look before approval — a tracking issue on the final URL, an HTTPS downgrade inside the redirect chain, an unexpected content type.
- Broken
- A deterministic failure, recorded with its code — an error status, a timeout, a TLS failure, a dead redirect. Fix it in your sending platform, then recheck a fresh test.
- Protected
- Recognized as an action-bearing link and never requested. Marked "Not opened" in the report; review it by hand.
- Blocked
- Refused by network safety policy before any request — a private or internal address, a non-standard port, embedded credentials. Review the URL manually.
- Inconclusive
- The destination answered 401, 403 or 429 and limited automated access. Neither a pass nor a failure — open it yourself.
When a run completes, the outcome rolls up honestly. Any Broken resource marks the campaign Failed. Blocked or Inconclusive items make it Incomplete — manual review required. Warnings keep the outcome at Warning, and an interrupted run always ends Incomplete rather than quietly passing. Passed appears only when the checked resources all came back Healthy. How to read a report.
What still needs a human
SendProofs produces the evidence for an approval; it does not approve. A finished report does not guarantee the send is correct — it records what each public destination did when requested, with the time and the code.
An automated 200 alone does not prove the campaign is right. It cannot say whether a link points at the page you meant, whether the offer, audience and timing match, or how the email looks when opened — SendProofs takes no screenshots and does not predict where the message lands.
Protected items were never opened on purpose; walk the unsubscribe and account links yourself. Inconclusive and Blocked items carry no automated verdict either — the report marks them so your review covers them deliberately, not by accident.
